HISTORY

1983 LabXA founded by Helga Göbel (head, administration) and Dr. Herbert Göbel (technical support)
First Customer: ESWL project group at University Clinic Munich
1984 Installation of first PC and DIFFRAC AT (Socabim) for evaluations
1985 - 2000 Continuous expansion of applications and methods development (informal cooperations with Siemens AG, Munich, and Bruker AXS):
• Improvements for transmission method in XRPD for Guinier and Debye-Scherrer optics
• Heating stage and micro-reactor for capillary samples
• Pioneering measurements for specular X-Ray Reflectometry (XRR)
• First approaches to multilayer optics and -monochromators for XRD leading to the development of “Göbel-Mirrors”
• Application of parallel-beam optics (Göbel-Mirrors and channel-cut Ge-crystals) to grazing incidence- and high-resolution diffractometer for thin films
• General purpose- and universal wavelength diffractometer with a Planar Göbel-Mirror, metalwire PSPC and Eulerian cradle
• Expansion to four dedicated and highly effective diffraction stations
2000 Installation of a Total-Reflection Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (TXRF) and upgrade with a Göbel-Mirror for Mo-Kα-radiation
2000 Expansion of the facility by duplicating the laboratory / office space
2004 Ulrike Hermeking-Göbel becomes new head of LabXA
2005 Dr. Ulrike Hermeking-Göbel finishes PhD-thesis at Technical University Vienna on Metal Matrix Composites
2005 Diffractometer #5 for stress- and texture analysis with Si(Li)-detector installed
